I grew up rewatching Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and Gene Wilder was always the part I looked forward to. Every scene he was in had this perfect mix of funny, strange and completely unpredictable.
The "Psycho" caption on this sketch is there purely out of love, because the older I get, the more I realise... Wonka might actually be a little bit unhinged. But that's the magic of Gene Wilder’s performance. He made someone who was completely unpredictable feel impossible to look away from.
