Marla Singer has always been one of those characters I couldn't take my eyes off. Flawed, chaotic and somehow effortlessly cool all at the same time. That slow-motion shot of her smoking has lived in my head ever since I first saw Fight Club. Helena Bonham Carter completely owns the moment without saying a word, and every rewatch I'm still waiting for that scene. Some characters become iconic because they're the hero. Marla became iconic because she was completely, unapologetically herself.
